1929 Chrysler DeSoto Roadster Series K Espanol This super vintage sports car is the earliest known right hand drive DeSoto and was one of the very few series K roadsters sold new in England. Manufactured in Canada 1928. It is a 1929 year model, first registered in London, November 1929. It is known that a lady missionary took the car to India and then returned at the outbreak of WWII. In the late 1960's the car was found in solid condition working on a farm. John Woodman restored the car then sold it to Dudley Akerlind in Southern Ireland. Dudley ran the car several times in the Gordon Bennett run. The engine was rebuilt in 1977 by Jonnie Walsh of Dublin fame. Ownership passed to Ben Moles who drove it successfully in the Lakeland tour. Suitable for fast long distance touring this most useable car has a six cylinder engine and hydraulic brakes. It is featured in the book 'The Automobile Treasury of Ireland' and many other publications and has a VSCC blue form. Owned this car for 17 years and drove thousands of miles to shows & events all over the UK. Sold.
